Part 1:
We talk with Peter Greene, education writer and reporter.
We discuss cases in which teachers and educators have been assailed for free speech in the classroom. We also discuss the group "Schools for America", which has begun a campaign to further the use of charter and private schools that fit the MAGA outlook. The cost is to public schools that are now being starved of funds to support voucher programs with tax dollars. The total cost of education is going up.
Part 2:
We talk with Jill Barshay, who writes for the Hechinger Report. She is expert in educational technologies being used and proposed.
We discuss the use of AI in teaching young students, and how these AI systems appear to perpetuate biases: they distinguish between the kinds of feedback given to white students, students of color, and female students.
