Bob Skinner, a baseball legend with three World Series rings and three All-Star nods, has passed away at ninety-four. He played twelve seasons across Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and St. Louis, batting .277 lifetime. Skinner, a six-foot-four outfielder nicknamed Sleepy, helped the Pirates shock the Yankees in the 1960 World Series and won rings with the Cardinals in 1964 and back in Pittsburgh as a coach in 1979. After retiring, he coached and managed the Phillies and Padres, and returned to Pittsburgh as a hitting coach, guiding their 1979 championship run. Born in La Jolla, California, Skinner left behind his wife Joan, four sons, and eight grandchildren.
