Blue Sky Meditation: Observing Thoughts Without Attachment

Blue Sky Meditation: Observing Thoughts Without Attachment

Episode 121 Published 2 months ago
Description

In this meditation, I guide you through a simple visualisation known as the blue sky meditation, a way of understanding your inner experience with greater clarity and ease.

We begin by settling into the breath, allowing the body to relax and awareness to stabilise. From here, you are invited to imagine a wide, open blue sky.

As the meditation unfolds, different forms of “weather” appear, clouds, changes in light, gentle rain, each representing thoughts, emotions and passing experiences.

Rather than becoming caught in these changes, you are invited to observe them, recognising that while the weather shifts, the sky itself remains unchanged.

In the same way, your thoughts and emotions move and change, but there is a deeper awareness beneath them that remains steady and open.

This practice offers a simple and powerful way to relate to your inner world, not by controlling it, but by observing it with calm and clarity.

This meditation offers a moment of calm, whether you are pausing during the day or winding down before sleep, helping you feel more spacious, steady and at ease.

This meditation supports emotional awareness, clarity and inner calm.
