A Prayer for When We Just Don’t Like Someone

Loving God,

sometimes we’re around someone

and we just don’t like them.

There can be something in us

that pulls back—

before we’ve even had time to understand it.

And yet—

you remind us

that beneath what feels different,

there is something deeper

that we share.

That we come from you.

That we are a part of the same life.

So in these moments,

help us to remain open.

Help us to see

what we do not yet feel.

Form in us a way of being

that makes connection possible

even when it does not come easily.

Amen.
