CAFMA Earns "Gold Helmet" Status for Firefighter Health
Description
The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) has been recognized with “Gold Helmet” status through the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) National Firefighter Registry (NFR) for Cancer, a national initiative aimed at better understanding and reducing cancer risks among firefighters. This distinction is awarded to fire departments that demonstrate exceptional commitment to firefighter health by enrolling at least 50% of their active personnel, or more than 300 firefighters, into the registry.
