Cs: Jirka stál na Karlově mostě a pozoroval turisty.
En: Jirka stood on Karlův most and watched the tourists.
Cs: Slunce svítilo a vlny Vltavy se leskly jako diamanty.
En: The sun was shining, and the waves of the Vltava gleamed like diamonds.
Cs: Jarní vzduch byl plný naděje, ale také napětí.
En: The spring air was full of hope but also tension.
Cs: Vedle něj stála Lidka, rukama si hladila závoj větru.
En: Next to him stood Lidka, stroking the veil of wind with her hands.
Cs: „Chce po nás víc, než jsme schopni unést,“ řekla tiše.

En: "Next week is the family gathering. We have to decide," answered Jirka.
Cs: Chvíli mlčeli, slyšeli jen slabý šum turistů a dunivý zvuk kroků po kamenné dlažbě.
En: They were silent for a moment, hearing only the faint murmur of tourists and the hollow sound of footsteps on the stone pavement.
Cs: „Mám nápad,“ řekl Jirka náhle.
En: "I have an idea," Jirka suddenly said.
Cs: „Co kdybychom prodali jen menší část dědictví? Můžeme si tak něco vydělat, a přitom si zachovat hlavní hodnotu celé brože.“
En: "What if we sold just a smaller part of the inheritance? We could earn some money while preserving the main value of the entire brooch."
Cs: Lidka na něj pohlédla s nadějí.
En: Lidka looked at him with hope.
Cs: „Mohli bychom tím vytvořit fond pro rodinné vzpomínky,“ navrhla.
En: "We could use it to create a fund for family memories," she suggested.
Cs: Dokonce i Radek vypadal, že ho myšlenka zaujala.
En: Even Radek seemed intrigued by the idea.
Cs: „Zní to rozumně. Část peněz bych mohl investovat a zbytek by zůstal našim dětem.“
En: "It sounds reasonable. I could invest part of the money and the rest would remain for our children."
Cs: Diskuze byla napjatá, ale pohled na historickou Prahu kolem nich je uklidňoval.
