Every follower of Jesus has been called to make an eternal difference. In this message from 2 Corinthians 5, Pastor Chris Teien explains how God transforms believers into His ambassadors and entrusts them with the message of reconciliation.

God did not save us to keep the gospel to ourselves. As we embrace our new identity in Christ, faithfully share His message, represent Him in everyday life, and participate in what He is already doing, God can use our lives to help others find new life in Jesus.

IN THIS MESSAGE

#1 YOU HAVE BEEN CHANGED BY JESUS

Everyone who trusts in Christ becomes a new creation. Our old life no longer defines us because God has given us a new identity and purpose through Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace and created to do the good works God has prepared for us. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:1-10)

#2 YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN A MESSAGE TO SHARE

God has entrusted every believer with the ministry of reconciliation. We have the privilege of sharing the good news that sinners can be forgiven and restored to God through faith in Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19; Romans 5:8)

#3 YOU HAVE BEEN SENT AS CHRIST’S REPRESENTATIVE

Believers are Christ’s ambassadors wherever God has placed them. Our words, actions, choices, and relationships should faithfully represent the Savior who has changed our lives. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

#4 YOU PARTICIPATE IN WHAT GOD IS ALREADY DOING

God is at work drawing people to Himself, and He invites us to participate. As we pray, prepare, serve faithfully, and look for opportunities, He uses ordinary believers to accomplish His purposes. (2 Corinthians 5:19-20; 1 Corinthians 15:58)

#5 YOUR LIFE CAN AFFECT SOMEONE’S ETERNITY

God often uses simple conversations, faithful friendships, personal testimonies, and clear presentations of the gospel to bring people to saving faith. Every believer has opportunities to point others to Jesus, while trusting God to change their hearts. (John 3:16; Romans 10:13-15)

Ask God to help you see yourself as Christ’s ambassador. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel, faithfully represent Jesus wherever you go, and trust Him to use your life to make an eternal difference.
