Sometimes We Still Have to Go Through It
Sometimes the path we’ve chosen leads us into places we would not choose on their own.
Jesus knew this kind of moment.
He didn’t want the cross.
He prayed that the cup might pass from him.
And yet, he remained with what he had discerned was his to do.
In the end, he entrusts himself to God with words first prayed in Psalm 31:
“Into your hand I commit my spirit.”
This is not about being forced into something.
It’s about those moments
when what we have said yes to
begins to ask something more of us—
something we would not choose in isolation,
but recognize as part of a larger calling.
Sometimes what we are carrying
is connected to the people we love,
the responsibilities we hold,
or the purpose in which we walk.
And in those moments,
the invitation is not to find a way out—
but to entrust ourselves to God’s care
as we continue through.
