Af: Die wind het begin huil deur die takke van die ou eikebome.
En: The wind began to howl through the branches of the old oak trees.
Af: Annelise kon die onheilspellende raas hoor terwyl sy besig was om die laaste boks kos in die ondergrondse bunker te plaas.
En: Annelise could hear the ominous noise as she was placing the last box of food in the underground bunker.
Af: Die lug het gereed gelyk om enige oomblik te bars, en die reën sou spoedig afkom.
En: The sky looked ready to burst at any moment, and the rain would soon come down.
Af: Die bunker, met sy versterkte mure en eenvoudiger beligting, moes 'n veilige hawe wees.
En: The bunker, with its reinforced walls and simple lighting, had to be a safe haven.
