    A Prayer About What Salvation Means

Loving God,

Sometimes we hear words like “salvation”—

and we’re not quite sure what they mean for us.

Help us hear salvation

not only as a rescue from something,

but as a process we are being drawn into.

To receive what nurtures growth,

and to remain present

as we are being made whole over time.

In these moments,

help us to recognize what is unfolding.

Help us become attentive

to the ways you are forming something within us

and among us.

Help us see how we are being gathered,

formed together.

So that we may participate

in the life you are bringing forth

in the world around us,

as it unfolds.

Amen.
