When We Don’t Know the Way

There are times we know where we want to go,

but don’t know the way.

We know what we want to accomplish,

but don’t know how.

The early disciples felt this.

“Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’” — John 14:5

In this moment, Thomas didn’t pretend to have all the answers.

He didn’t fake confidence or certainty.

And Jesus reminded Thomas and the others

not to let their hearts be troubled—

but to trust that God would guide them safely through.

We don’t always know the what, where, when, or how.

But we are invited to trust the Who

in those times when we don’t know the way.
