Helena Bonham Carter has departed the White Lotus production just four days into filming, with the creative team determining the character and performance didn't work within the show's dynamic. Laura Dern has been cast as her replacement and will fly to France to join the production, though she will be playing a different role than originally written for Bonham Carter.
