Description
Fr. Adrian Crowley offers a wide-ranging meditation on the Holy Spirit as Pentecost and confirmation season approach. Drawing on the image of a condor lifted by warm air over Andean canyons, Ezekiel’s valley of dry bones, and the healing river of Ezekiel 48, he explores what it means to let the Holy Spirit lift our thoughts, flow through our daily actions and renew us when we feel spiritually inert.
He maps the journey from scripture reading to meditation to contemplation — using Our Lady at Knock, eyes raised to heaven, as his image of contemplation — and reflects on what blocks the flow: the seven deadly sins, addictive behaviours, the accumulated heaviness of daily life. He ends with a personal memory: a difficult student in his teacher days, prayed for from September, noticeably transformed by June. His closing invitation is the Pentecost novena: nine days of fervent prayer for the Holy Spirit to come strongly into the Church and the world.
