Published 19 years, 7 months ago
Description

The Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) was born during World War II. Its mission was to inform and entertain American military personnel overseas. That mission has changed little in the 64 years since, although the methods used have changed immeasurably. What was it like to serve in AFRTS? Ken Rogge (a former AFRTSer) talks to Gerry Fry who spent 32 years in AFRTS (many of them at the Headquarters) and with two former members of AFRTS about their experiences.
