Why is there so much hype about the Book of Enoch? Even a cursory glance reveals that there was more than one Enoch, more than one book, more than one author, and that with the compiled text, there is explicit reference to parables—symbolic stories used to illustrate a point. The compilation of material is similar to Biblical John’s Revelation and to the shamanic practice, meaning that it was likely inspired by an altered state of consciousness. The same goes for Ezekiel and Moses talking to a burning bush. Furthermore, much of what is in the book clearly is derived from a lineage of metaphoric mysteries.
