Changing Australia: Di Ryder and supporting Indigenous veterans and reconciliation
Published 2 weeks ago
Description
Army veteran Di Ryder stepped up to the podium at a solemn Anzac Day service in Perth on Saturday to acknowledge traditional owners, only to be greeted by boos ringing out from the pre-dawn gloom.
It was a "disgusting and disrespectful" display, according to WA Premier Roger Cook, especially for a woman who's spent years advocating for Indigenous veterans and their families.
- Guest: Di Ryder, Noongar Elder, President of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Veterans & Services Association of WA and 2024 inductee to the Western Australian Women's Hall of Fame
