A Prayer for When Things Get Hard

Loving God,

Sometimes we find ourselves

in situations that are difficult,

uncertain, or unfair.

And in those moments,

we don’t always know how to respond.

Some of us become defensive—

trying to justify ourselves.

Some of us go on the attack—

reacting out of frustration or anger.

Some of us withdraw—

losing energy,

losing hope.

Meet us in these moments.

Keep us attentive

to how we are responding—

and to what is unfolding within us.

As we face what is hard,

teach us to entrust ourselves to you,

and to keep moving forward

grounded in love.

Amen.
