Description
How We Respond When Things Get Hard
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations
that are difficult, uncertain, or unfair.
“He did not threaten, but he entrusted himself
to the one who judges justly.” (1 Peter 2:23)
When things get hard,
we don’t always respond the same way.
Some of us become defensive—
trying to justify ourselves,
and at times even our very being.
Some of us go on the attack—
lashing out in anger or bitterness.
Some of us withdraw—
shutting down,
relinquishing hope.
But 1 Peter points us to another way.
In Jesus, we see someone
who did not react out of fear or force,
but remained grounded in who he was
and where he was going.
When things get hard,
we don’t have to defend,
we don’t have to attack,
we don’t have to withdraw.
We can keep moving forward—
walking in purpose,
centered in love.

This is 60 Seconds of Hope.
Peace be with you.
