In this episode, I sit down with Lynn from Louisiana, near the Texas border — a lifelong hunter and trapper who has spent decades navigating the swamps, river bottoms, and deep woods of the South. Long before Bigfoot became a mainstream topic, locals in his area had a name for these creatures — the Hairy Man or the Wild Man. These weren’t stories for entertainment… they were warnings and shared knowledge passed down through generations.
Lynn recalls hearing unearthly screams echoing through the forest as a young man — sounds that didn’t belong to any known animal. In 1972, he had his first visual encounter near a creek, where he observed two massive, upright creatures — one standing around 8 feet tall, with another even larger figure nearby. At the time, he believed they might be some kind of “big monkeys,” but over time, his understanding changed. Over the years, Lynn continued to experience brief but intense encounters across Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas. He describes these beings as highly elusive, often staying just out of sight — moving through shadows and watching from a distance.
He also shares moments of direct interaction: Objects like pine cones being thrown at him in the woods A terrifying encounter where a creature stepped onto a trail and screamed, producing a physical, almost vibrating effect in his body His belief that these creatures actively hunt wild game and may even move alongside coyotes According to Lynn, activity has shifted over time, with sightings now occurring closer to areas just outside city limits.
