Loving God,

Sometimes we know

we need help—

and still don’t ask.

Sometimes we get close

to asking for help—

and then stop.

We hold back what we need,

unsure how it will be received.

Meet us in that hesitation.

Give us the courage

to remain open

just a little longer—

and to trust

just a little bit further,

knowing we will be received.
