Daily Devo | Choosing Between Power, Profit, and Peace (New Testament in a Year, Luke 19:28-48)
Description
As Jesus approaches Jerusalem, he weeps over the city, grieving that they will choose a path of power and violence rather than his way of peace. He warns that their choice will lead to the horrors that were later fulfilled when Rome crushed the Jewish rebellions. Entering the temple, he drives out those who have turned it into a place of profit, declaring its true purpose as a house of prayer. We are God’s temple today: are our hearts more like a place of profit or a house of prayer for all people?
