PREDICTION: New Orleans Saints, Caleb Downs A Perfect First Round Match In 2026 NFL Draft

The New Orleans Saints and Ohio State safety Caleb Downs could be a perfect fit for one another in this year's NFL Draft. While LSU's Mansoor Delane and Ohio State wideout Carnell Tate aren't far behind, Downs checks every box that Saints' general manager Mickey Loomis laid out during his Wednesday press conference. If on the board, Downs will be the best player available, he has very few to no question marks and allows the team to bolster an important piece of Brandon Staley's defense.

However, EDGE Rueben Bain Jr. and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson may not be entirely ruled out either. Loomis said that the team wants to have answers for lingering questions on the prospect they take. With that, answered questions could still lead Tyson or Bain to the Big Easy.
