Description
When We See Something We Know Isn’t Right
Sometimes we find ourselves in a moment
where something isn’t right—
and we’re not the one doing it,
but we’re there.
Do we say something?
Do we step in?
Or do we stay quiet—
because it’s easier
not to get involved…
or because, in some way,
we agree with it—
even if we wouldn’t do it ourselves?
This is where a young man named Saul was.
He would go on to become Paul.
But in this moment,
he stood there as Stephen was being stoned.
“the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.”
(from Acts 7:58)
Many of us may find ourselves
in a moment like this—
and we may even respond
the way Saul did at first.
But like Saul,
may we remain open—
ready to learn,
to grow,
and to change.
Because the process can transform who we are,
just as it did for him.
