Neil Oliver is a Scottish archaeologist, historian, television presenter, author, and broadcaster. He studied archaeology at the University of Glasgow, worked in the field, and later trained as a journalist before rising to prominence in 2002 as the charismatic host of popular BBC documentary series such as Coast, A History of Scotland, Vikings, and Sacred Wonders of Britain. Known for his passionate storytelling, deep dives into British and world history, archaeology, and cultural heritage, he has also written numerous books blending history with personal reflection. In recent years, Oliver has become an outspoken commentator on current events, freedom, and skepticism toward authority. His YouTube channel, simply called "Neil Oliver", serves as the home for his regular monologues, history series, interviews, and news commentary.
