En: Springtime rural life on Saaremaa began with a play of scents and colors.
Et: Kõikjal rohetasid põllud, metsad tärkasid uuele elule ja õhus oli kevade karget hingust.
En: Everywhere, the fields were greening, the forests were awakening to new life, and the crisp air carried the breath of spring.
Et: Kuid Mati oli mures.
En: But Mati was worried.
Et: Iga päev vaatas ta oma põlde, mis näisid talveunest vaevu ärkamas.
En: Every day he watched his fields, which seemed barely awake from winter's slumber.
