Steel Magnolias returns to the stage in a new Australian production featuring Lisa McCune, Lottie Beckett and Belinda Giblin. The play is set in Truvy's hair salon near Shreveport, Louisiana, and follows six women over two and a half years, beginning with Shelby's wedding day. The story explores female friendship, loss and strength, and is based on the autobiographical work by Robert Harling who wrote both the original play and the screenplay for the iconic 1980s film.
