Published 1 day, 13 hours ago
Description
A 45-year-old New South Wales Treasury employee has been arrested and charged with accessing and downloading over 5,500 sensitive government documents containing confidential, commercial and financial information across multiple NSW departments. The public servant, who worked in Treasury's commercial team for three years, allegedly transferred the documents to an external server earlier this month. NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey has ordered a review of cyber security protocols and established a taskforce to examine the breach's extent and potential impact on current government negotiations.
