Published 1 day, 12 hours ago
Description
The Federal Treasurer and Health Minister have met with state governments over the National Disability Insurance Scheme, warning of financial collapse without agreement on a new plan. The Albanese government wants states to sign up to the $4 billion Thriving Kids Program for children under eight with autism and developmental delays, aiming to reduce NDIS growth from 10% to 5% annually. A Senate committee has also begun hearings on a proposed 25% gas export tax that could generate $17 billion for the federal budget.
