Toddler's preventable hospital death sparks accountability fight
Published 2 days, 8 hours ago
Description
A coroner's report has found that 21-month-old Sandy Pan Dhar's death from undiagnosed leukaemia at Joondalup Hospital was likely preventable. The toddler's parents had repeatedly requested blood tests which were ignored by hospital staff, and despite the coroner handing down six recommendations to improve hospital processes, no staff members have been held accountable. The grieving family has lodged a petition to Parliament demanding the termination of Ramsay Health's contract to operate Joondalup Health Campus.
