Ep. 307 - The Irish Nationalist Uprising of Easter 1916
Description
This week Scott and William discuss the 1916 Easter Uprising of Irish Nationalists against their British Imperial oppressors. A small, unpopular group led by poets and schoolteachers mobilized about 1200 fighting men to the streets of Dublin and held out for a week before being blasted and starved into surrender, however the execution of the leaders resulting in their martyrdom unified Irish opinion and ultimately led to their independence in 1922.
