Description
Paul McAree begins this episode with his own story: reading John’s Gospel in a friend’s apartment in North America at twenty years old, recovering from an accident and very low, and being so captivated by the person of Jesus in the Passion that he consented that night to follow him. He describes how, in a later period of deep suffering, he felt drawn to connect his pain to the Lord’s through Scripture, and how a friend’s scriptural Divine Mercy prayer inspired him to harvest all four Gospels and the Psalms and prophets into a narrative prayer through the Passion. He reflects on what makes John’s Last Supper discourse in chapters 13–17 so extraordinary, then leads the first full holy hour of the Eucharistic Divine Mercy from Last Supper to tomb with Mary Magdalene.
