Sat, Apr 18 2:34 AM → 3:15 AM The Ramapo Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a shooting that left a man seriously injured Friday night.At approximately 1030 p.m. on April 17 2026 officers responded to reports of a shooting at Veloz Barbershop located at 279 North Main Street. Upon arrival officers found a 59-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.Following the shooting an extensive canvass was conducted and the suspectwho fled the scene in a vehiclewas later located by a patrol unit from the Rockland County Sheriffs Office in the area of 150 West Eckerson Road LESS THAN A HALF HOUR LATER Ramapo Police officers responded and took the 50-year-old suspect into custody without further incident.
