Description
On April 8, a federal grand jury in Phoenix indicted Esteban Yanez, 34, of Gilbert, owner of a Chandler gun store, on eight counts including making a false statement during a firearm purchase, straw purchasing firearms, and failing to file IRS forms for cash transactions. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona announced the charges; case under federal prosecution.

Earlier in January near Hamilton High School, Chandler police investigated an off-duty Phoenix police sergeant, Dusten Mullen, for alleged misconduct at an anti-ICE protest. He sought charges against a juvenile after being splashed with water. Phoenix PD placed Mullen on administrative leave on April 10; investigation ongoing by Phoenix Professional Standards Bureau, notified by Chandler PD.
