Ru: Весна пришла в коммунальную деревню, и жители готовились к Пасхе.
En: Spring had arrived in the communal village, and the residents were preparing for Easter.

Ru: На узких пыльных дорожках вокруг деревянных домиков стояли корзины с раскрашенными яйцами и веточки вербы.
En: On the narrow, dusty paths around the wooden houses, there were baskets with painted eggs and branches of pussy willow.

Ru: Юрий, молодой и веселый парень, едва поспевал за деревенскими хлопотами.
En: Yuriy, a young and cheerful guy, barely kept up with the village chores.

Ru: Он всегда был готов помочь с хозяйством.
En: He was always ready to help with the household tasks.

Ru: Чаще же он старался произвести впечатление на Нину, умную и находчивую девушку, которая была известна своим умением решать любые проблемы.
En: More often, he tried to impress Nina, a smart and resourceful girl known for her ability to solve any problem.

Ru: Как раз в этот день приключилась беда.
En: On this very day, trouble occurred.

Ru: Свинью из сарая Васильевых унесло чего-то неслыханного — она вырвалась и носилась, размахивая ушами.

Ru: Юрий решил, что погоня не дает результатов, и предложил план.

Ru: Они забрались в сарай и взяли корзину и несколько морковок.
En: They went into the barn and grabbed a basket and a few carrots.

Ru: По его задумке, корзина станет ловушкой, морковки — приманкой.
En: According to his idea, the basket would be the trap, and the carrots—the bait.

Ru: Нина одобрила этот замысел.
En: Nina approved of this plan.
