Tuesday, Walmart parking lot: Officers fatally shot 31-year-old Noemi Guzman after she allegedly stole a knife from the store, slashed a 3-year-old boy's face and hand during an attempted kidnapping, and refused commands to drop the weapon. Officers involved placed on paid administrative leave; investigation ongoing.
Wednesday, near 42nd and Grover Street: Police tracked an allegedly stolen minivan from Council Bluffs, which crashed after a pedestrian was seriously injured. Two suspects taken into custody; no major injuries reported beyond the pedestrian.
Last weekend, statewide: Nebraska State Patrol arrested 20 impaired drivers during a special enforcement campaign.
No additional incidents reported for the previous week.
