Story Transcript:
Et: Kevad oli jõudnud Lahemaa rahvusparki.
En: Spring had arrived at Lahemaa National Park.
En: The burgeoning life among the forests and bogs roused the park from its winter slumber.
En: Trees bore their first green buds, and the returning birds sang joyfully.
En: Maarika stood on her favorite trail, filling her lungs with the scent of damp earth and fresh air.
En: She loved this place and knew that soon tourists would come to experience its beauty.
Et: Kalju, pargivaht, liikus sama rajal, kuid mõtles hoopis teistmoodi.
En: Kalju, the park ranger, walked the same trail, but his thoughts were quite different.
En: He planned to strengthen the facilities and organize the paths better so that more visitors could fit into the park.
En: For him, it was important for the park to be as profitable and well-managed as possible.
En: "Look, Maarika," said Kalju, reaching her side.
Et: "Minu uus plaan võimaldab meil rohkem turiste vastuvõtta."
En: "My new plan will allow us to accommodate more tourists."
Et: Maarika noogutas, kuid süda kiskus sees.
En: Maarika nodded, but her heart felt uneasy.
Et: "Aga Kalju, me peame näitama turistidele, miks looduse kaitsmine on tähtis.
En: "But Kalju, we need to show tourists why protecting nature is important.
En: I'm currently preparing a brochure that introduces the park's flora and fauna."
En: "I understand, but we need the infrastructure to safely accommodate these people."
En: They continued cleaning the trail when suddenly laughter and voices were heard from afar.
En: A group of tourists had arrived before the official start of the season and had left their trash in the forest.
En: Maarika and Kalju rushed to resolve the situation, forgetting their previous disagreements.
Et: "Vabandage, palun," kutsus Maarika, "just sellised tegevused kahjustavad habrast ökosüsteemi."
En: "Excuse me, please," called Maarika, "activities like this damage the fragile ecosystem."
Et: Kalju lisas: "Kui oleksite nõus, võiksime suunata teid teisele rajale, kus vähem loodust kahjustate."
En: Kalju added, "If you are willing, we could guide you to another trail where you will cause less harm to nature."
Et: Koos leidsid nad kiirelt lahenduse.
En: Together, they quickly found a solution.
