Published 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Description

Young artists from Austin and Bee Cave have made a splash in the Wildlife Forever Fish Art Contest for 2026, securing top spots and showcasing their talent. Their winning artwork will grace the 2027 Texas Fish Art Calendar and be displayed at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens. Candice Chen from Bee Cave took first place in the four to six grade division, with Eva Huang and Yueran Lang from Austin following close behind. Eliza Chung from Bee Cave secured second place in the ten to twelve grade category, while Annabelle Yuan from Frisco earned second place in the seven to nine grades and the special species award for her paddlefish piece. This contest not only celebrates young artists but also fosters a connection to nature and highlights protected fish species like the paddlefish, which has been safe in Texas since 1977. These young artists are inspiring the next generation of nature stewards.
