NSW nurses win historic 16% pay rise
Published 1 week ago
Description
New South Wales nurses have secured a 16 per cent pay rise over three years, including a 10 per cent one-off reset backdated to July 2025, following two years of industrial disputes. The Industrial Relations Commission acknowledged the historic undervaluing of the nursing workforce, which comprises 90 per cent women, but rejected the union's request for a 35 per cent increase and doubled sick leave. The Nurses and Midwives Association says the outcome falls short of properly valuing nurses' work and will continue campaigning ahead of the state election.
