A Prayer for When We Face Unfair Hardship

Loving God,

Sometimes we find ourselves

carrying something

we didn’t choose,

didn’t cause,

and wouldn’t have wanted.

And we’re left trying to make sense of it.

Give us the clarity

to recognize what we are responsible for—

and what we are not.

And in all of it,

keep us aware of your presence with us.

When the path feels unclear,

and the weight feels undeserved,

remind us that we are not alone.

That you are with us

in the difficult places.

Help us respond

not from fear or frustration,

but from our awareness

that we are sustained by something greater.

And let that awareness

carry us forward—

with resilience,

with courage,

and with hope.

Amen.
