Description

After spending 12 hours volunteering in the medical tent at Mile 21.4 of the Boston Marathon during his freshman year, Luke Mangano ’28 left inspired and committed. In this episode of Discover Boston College with host Dylan Carollo ’25, Luke shares how that moment sparked his goal to run the 2026 Boston Marathon himself. Now training through a stress fracture, he’s running for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Massachusetts chapter, raising funds for research, prevention, and survivor support. With roommates on the D1 cross country team and the full BC community behind him, Luke reflects on setting ambitious goals, the uniqueness of the Boston course, and what it will mean to cross the finish line.
