US President Donald Trump says the war against Iran is "very close to over".

Pakistan says it's working to help Washington and Tehran negotiate an end to the war, following failed peace talks in Islamabad, this weekend.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sarif is set to travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye to secure a new round of negotiations.

Iran says there's "no information" about any agreement for a second meeting with Washington, while Mr Trump has said talks could restart "in the next two days".

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Brunei has promised it won't cut off supplies of fertiliser to Australia after travelling to the South East Asian nation in an attempt to shore up national energy supplies.

In a joint statement with the Sultan of Brunei, the leaders expressed  "deep concern" over the ongoing war in the middle east

The document doesn't contain any binding guarantees but Mr Albanese says Brunei has made it clear it will not cut exports of critical supplies such as fuel and fertiliser.

Victoria Police has confirmed detectives are investigating reports alleging US pop-star Katy Perry sexually assaulted Australian actress Ruby Rose in 2010.

Rose aired the claims in a now-deleted social media post, alleging the assault took place at a nightclub in Melbourne's CBD

A spokesperson for Katy Perry says the allegations are "categorically false" describing them as "dangerous lies".
