Our Newest Worker-Owned Arts Mag, a Twist in the Gas Works Saga, and Award-Winning Bagels

Published 2 months, 1 week ago
Description

Jane sits down with the founders of CHUM News, Seattle's newest online magazine mixing art, food, politics, and culture. Photographer Meron Menghistab and journalist Adam Willems share how they launched their worker-owned publication to fill gaps in the local media landscape, and contributor Brett Hamill discusses the vital role of independent arts media. The group also dives into surprising data about which Seattle neighborhoods have the highest concentrations of kids to seniors. And then Jane breaks down the midweek headlines, including the Punk Rock Flea Market gaining national attention, Hey Bagel winning big, and a discussion of the ideal uses for Seattle’s many empty buildings.
