A Prayer for Widened Circles

Loving God,

Sometimes our days are already full—

and our attention stays with what’s right in front of us.

The people we know.

The things we’re responsible for.

What we can manage.

And even that can feel like enough.

But in the midst of that,

there are moments when we are invited

to remain a little longer.

To stay in the conversation.

To check in instead of moving on.

To notice what someone might need.

To share what we have.

Give us the willingness to stay present—

to be attentive,

to be available,

to take part in what is unfolding among us.

And as we do,

form in us a deeper awareness of one another.

A greater care for what is needed.

A readiness to respond in tangible ways.

Widen our circle.

Amen.
