Mariyung trains finally arrive five years late
Published 1 week, 2 days ago
Description
The Mariyung commuter trains have begun service on Sydney's South Coast line between Central and Kiama, five years behind schedule and with a billion-dollar cost blowout. The foreign-built trains required modifications to fit tracks, tunnels and platforms, and sparked union disputes over safety and staffing. Services will run every 15 minutes during peak times, though airport passengers will need to change trains twice when the Wolli Creek stop is removed later this year.
