Qantas slashes domestic flights as fuel costs soar
Published 1 week, 2 days ago
Description
Qantas is slashing 5% of domestic flights across Australia as its jet fuel bill has surged by up to $800 million since February. Regional routes including Darwin to Gold Coast, Sydney to Busselton, and Adelaide to Mount Gambier are being suspended or cancelled, while major city routes between Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth may also face reduced services. The airline is offering affected customers alternative flights or refunds as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese travels to Asia to secure fuel supplies.
