Police hunt syndicate behind $30m Airbnb drug haul
Published 1 week, 2 days ago
Description
A major drug trafficking syndicate used a Melbourne Airbnb in Keilor East to store 100 kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine valued at $30 million, along with homemade pipe bombs, rifles and over $1 million in cash. A cleaner discovered the illegal cache after visitors vacated the property, which investigators believe was hired by a 19-year-old man forced by the syndicate to rent it for at least three weeks. Victoria Police are seeking to identify a man seen fuelling a white Toyota Camry rental car linked to the property, and believe the criminal network has used multiple properties in similar fashion.
