Gofal Baziad is standing trial for the murder of Jason Palmer, whose body was found in a sleeping bag in the Nepean River at Menangle in February 2004. Renny Palmer, who was in relationships with both men, testified in Sydney's Supreme Court about being given an ultimatum to choose between her husband and ex-boyfriend shortly before Jason's disappearance. The accused was arrested and charged in 2024, two decades after the alleged crime and six years after his relationship with Renny Palmer ended.
