Biblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, I am Rachel Tolliver, A man died and went to glory. And when he got to the pearly gates, Saint Peter was standing there like a holy usher. The man said, “Peter, I’ve got one question. What’s the value system up here? How do things work in heaven?”

Peter smiled and said, “Well son, up here… a minute is worth a million years.”

The man’s eyes got wide. “A million years? Whoa! Well then, how much is a nickel worth?”

Peter said, “Up here? A nickel is worth a million dollars.”

The man nearly shouted, “Well Peter, can I have a nickel?”

Peter looked at him and said, “Yeah… in a minute.” Saints, did you catch that? It’s all about your value system. It’s all about what you’re looking at. Down here, we chase nickels and minutes. But up there? Time and treasure are measured by eternity.  Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” And 1 Corinthians 1:30 declares, “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.”

So if you’ve got Christ, you’ve got wisdom. If you’ve got Christ, you’ve got righteousness. If you’ve got Christ, you’ve got hope. You don’t need a nickel when you’ve got the name that’s above every name! So stop counting coins and start counting days. Because when you number your days in light of eternity, you’ll walk in wisdom, live in purpose, and stand in glory.
