Published 1 week, 3 days ago
Description
Michael Angok, a 30-year-old Sudanese national convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Doonside in 2014, escaped custody by breaking away from escorting officers at Bankstown Hospital after asking to use the bathroom. He led police on a five-day manhunt before being arrested in a car park near Seven Hills train station, with officers now investigating whether someone harboured him during his escape. Angok, who was awaiting deportation at Villawood Detention Centre, appeared at Blacktown Court and did not apply for bail.
