Episode 213: The Blair Witch Project (1999) (w/special guest Alexandra Heller-Nicholas)

Episode 213 Published 1 week ago
Description

This week, Josh and Drusilla are excited to be joined by film critic and documentarian, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas. Alexandra has written the book on film footage (literally) and thus brings the show the big mama jama of the sub genre: The Blair Witch Project. From wiki: “The Blair Witch Project is a 1999 American found footage psychological folk horror film written, directed, and edited by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez. One of the most successful independent films of all time, it is a "found footage" pseudo-documentary in which three young students (Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard) hike into the Appalachian Mountains near Burkittsville, Maryland, to shoot a documentary about a local myth known as the Blair Witch.”

Also discussed: Iron Lung, 1000 Women in Horror, Terrifier, The Drama, Marble Hornets, Eddington, The Slap, Force Majeur, The Bad Seed, Night of the Living Dead, Hellier, and more.

NEXT WEEK: Salo or The 100 Days of Sodom
